Kenya’s homeless epidemic: Aid groups struggling

More than 40 percent of people in Kenya live below the poverty line. Some charities and volunteers are trying to pull street kids out of poverty, as well as give them a place to spend the holidays.

Economic migration from rural areas, a rising cost of living and an overall lack of opportunities are the kinds of things leading to entire families ending up on the streets and a new generation of Kenyans being born into poverty, say aid groups.
