What began with a crash and was followed up with an unlikely bronze medal, has concluded with a bunch of balloons and a cake iced in the shape of a goat.
The curious — if touching — sentiment was arranged by Vonn’s boyfriend P.K. Subban, the Nashville Predators defenseman. He threw a surprise welcome for the retiring skier on her return from the World Championships in Are, where she clinched downhill bronze to cap a stunning career with a fairytale ending.
