UK: Anger over terrorism conviction for “Stansted 15′ activists

A group of activists who stopped a deportation flight from leaving the United Kingdom to Africa 18 months ago have been convicted of criminal charges linked to terrorism offences.

The so-called “Stansted 15” say they were convinced the lives of the people on the flight would have been in danger if they had been deported.

The case has put a sharp focus on the UK’s commitment to protecting the human rights of asylum seekers.

Al Jazeera’s Laurence Lee reports from Chelmsford, UK.
