Palestinians cheer as tourists throng Bethlehem

Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, is experiencing a record flow of tourists. Israel says October figures were record-breaking.

The holy city is located in the occupied West Bank and the ongoing political tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have a direct effect on the tourism industry.

The record growth in tourism brings Palestinians, who have been struggling to make ends meet, some reason to cheer.

Al Jazeera’s Stefanie Dekker reports from Bethlehem.
