Nicaragua: Tourism industry crumbles after months of protests

Nicaragua‘s tourism industry has been decimated by months of protests and governmental crackdowns.

The Nicaraguan National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR) estimates that about a third of restaurants have closed.

While at night the capital resembles a ghost town, a few Nicaraguans are now starting to visit the city’s bars and restaurants again.
