France opposition capitalising on protests ahead of EU vote?

French President Emmanuel Macron had no shortage of challenges last year.

Perceived as being out of touch, anger with his government came to a head with often violent “yellow vest” protests, which have continued.

Macron’s political rivals are trying to capitalise on the mood in the country to prepare for the next European elections in May.
