Philippines’ Boracay tourist island reopens

One of the world’s most popular tourist islands has reopened in the Philippines, six months after it shut down because it was a “cesspool”.

Boracay Island typically welcomes two million visitors a year but mass tourism resulted in widespread pollution, forcing it to close to allow time for a clean-up.
