Syria war: Kurdish fighters battle ISIL in its last controlled area

The battle for one of the last ISIL-controlled pockets of northern Syria has displaced tens of thousands of people.

The US-backed Kurdish forces have been fighting the armed group in Deir Az Zor. Humanitarian workers say fleeing civilians are in desperate need of assistance.
