Baltimore police begin cash-for-guns campaign to check violence

Police in the US city of Baltimore have launched a guns-for-cash campaign aimed at getting weapons off the streets.

Through this, they hope to curb gun violence in a city where more than 300 people have been killed in each of the past four years.

But with gun ownership so widespread in the US, it’s argued such campaigns are nothing more than PR stunts.
