Unprecedented number of Muslim Americans running for office

The number of Muslim candidates standing in the primary elections in the United States has risen dramatically.

Advocacy groups say they have been spurred on by President Donald Trump’s policies and rhetoric.

The primaries decide the candidates for November’s midterm election, which determines the shape of Congress.
